Shoe of the Week: Nike 96 Air Griffey Max

With my 24th birthday coming up in less than a month I figured what shoe better to get than to get these Griffeys when they drop seeing as though his number with the Mariners was 24! Not sure which pair I want though...I think I may go with the black ones. Nike needs to go ahead and drop those Griffey 2s sometime in 2009 too!

Cool Clothes: Pocket Watch
Pocket watches first became popular back in the 16th century, but lost their popularity as the wristwatch became more prevalent around the time of World War I. Funny sidenote...apparently wristwatches were viewed as feminine when they first came out. Anyway, back to the the pocket watch...it is typically worn with a vest and has a corresponding chain to prevent it from being damaged from being dropped or lost. It made a slight comeback in the '70s and '80s when 3-piece suits regained popularity, but the hype didn't last too long. Needless to say....I'M BRINGIN' BACK THA POCKET WATCH!! And I'm not rockin' it with 3-piece suits. lol. Let's be a little different. I think these things are pretty sweet though. I mean...how smooth is it to whip a fancy gold watch out of your pocket to tell the time? Especially when people have been looking at the chain the whole time you've ben talking to them thinking, "I wonder what's on the end of that chain and what it looks like?" lol. I've always wanted one, so if anyone would like to get me a nice engraved gold pocket watch *cough* then go right ahead. ;)Feelin' This Song Too: "Cleveland Is the Reason"-Kid Cudi
If you don't have the "A Kid Named Cudi" mixtape then you need to step your game up!! This man is ingenious!
Young $$$Maker: Johnny Cupcakes
John Earle, aka Johnny Cupcakes, is the creator and owner of Johnny Cupcakes Clothing Brand. He started the brand back in 2001 as sort of a joke. As he toured with his bad, On Broken Wings, he sold t-shirts out of the trunk of his car. He worked part-time at a silk screen printing shop so needless to say, he had a bit of a hookup. He would make funny/interesting shirts poking fun at pop culture, and soon the designs took off as they became more and more popular. The line now consists or shirts, sweaters, jewelry, etc. Eventually he opened his first shop in 2005. The thing, however, that makes his brand so unique is his commitment to his bakery theme. His stores look like a bakery and often people walk into his store thinking they are walking into an actual bakery! The clothes are displayed in pastry cases, and customers are often seen walking out with their clothes in boxes resembling bakery boxes. His stores even SMELL like bakeries! lol I think it's an AMAZING idea! This guy right here is definitely an inspiration because I think some of my clothes resemble the kind of vibe he goes for in his clothing. Oh...and did I mention he's only 26 and, according to his blog, is now officially a millionaire!http://www.johnnycupcakes.com/
